Tonight, OUAB presented “An Inconvenient Truth” in the Ohio Union. The night included popcorn, drinks, and free posters to a few lucky winners. Thanks to everyone there who talked to me about Seeing Green, and who took the time to visit our site. “An Inconvenient Truth” stresses the need for all of us take responsibility for our environment. Our group is extremely interested in reactions to the film, as well as the many issues raised during it.

“We are all Environmentalist…” Do you agree? This quote was made by Laurie David during her lecture on the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”. Laurie David used this lecture to explain in more depth the severity of global warming and to clarify any questions or misunderstanding viewers may have had about the movie or global warming. She went on to explain that the environment is not a vacation that we sometimes visit, we live in our environment daily and must constantly interact with it-hence we are all “Environmentalist”. I understand where she is coming from partially, but is “environmentalist” the appropriate word? I feel that “environmentalist” has a negative connotation associated with it. However could this connotation change if it was used more regularly, as David says, to describe all humans?
