I would like to invite anyone from Seeing Green to write a newsletter article for "Simply News" based on your experience at our conference. The deadline is Nov. 15 and you can send it to Marilyn Welker at mwelker@ctcn.net. We'd appreciate a student's perspective, esp. based on your work following the eco-scene over the past months, and some photos! Let's talk - 447-0296, Sarah

I graduated from OSU with degrees in forestry and urban planning. I really appreciate present day students that are focusing on sustainable living. I recently visited Holland, Denmark and Sweden. In 17 days I saw only 2 SUVs, but tens of thousands of bikes and people walking. I’ve hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and belong the AT Long Distance Hiking Association. I believe in walking.

I was a speaker at the Simply Living conference this weekend and met some great folks - including the ones who pointed me to this site. I’ve only been a member of Simply Living for a few years now but I’ve been increasingly drawn to the concept that we need societal not just technological changes to achieve a sustainable world. For example “walkable communities” not only help the environment they improve our quality of life. I love the name “seeinggreen” - how we see our world is our most powerful environmental tool.
