Let the Columbus Earth Day 2007: A Year in a Day festivities begin!
Whole Foods Market, Sierra Nevada, and Columbus Green Drinks proudly and gratefully present:

All sharing their talent to benefit of Columbus Earth Day 2007: A Year in a Day!
When: Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 until 2:00
Where: Little Brothers, 1100 N High St
Why: Benefit concert for Earth Day 2007: A Year in a Day.
Admission is Free (with a suggested $2 donation). A portion of all Sierra Nevada beer sold that night will also help support the largest Earth Day event in Columbus in over a decade.

The earthday celebration sounds like a great idea; increase awareness of sustatainable living and all that. But, something wreaks with the behemoth corporate sponsorship of Whole Foods (which is gobbling up chains by the day) and Sierra Nevada. I guess it’s better to have the event than not have it but the support money’s a bit dirty (for this kind of event). The teeny tiny donation Sierra’s going to make, I suspect, is miniscule in comparison to wheat they make during the event and/or from the publicity they get.
